Major Project in Rohrbach: X2E Invests in a New Company Campus

The X2E Group is building a new headquarters in Rohrbach, setting a clear signal for growth and future viability. On an area of around 22,000 square meters, a modern company campus will be built in the coming years, providing space for up to 200 employees. The first construction phase includes the central main building as well as the development of the outdoor areas and is planned with an investment volume of around ten million euros. The building application has already been submitted, making a construction start in late 2025 realistic. Completion is scheduled for spring 2027. The project is being implemented in cooperation with HEBERGER System-Bau GmbH, HEBERGER Engineering GmbH , and the architects of Werkgemeinschaft Landau.

Main Building as the Heart of the Campus

The new main building forms the central element of the X2E Campus. Its modern architecture is characterized by clear lines and generous glass façades. This creates an open, light-flooded atmosphere and a transparent, welcoming working environment. The construction method combines functional efficiency with contemporary design, underlining the site’s technological ambitions.

Focus on Sustainability

The campus is consistently designed for energy efficiency and sustainability. Large-scale photovoltaic systems—including rooftop installations, solar carports, and even an innovative PV fence—will generate a significant portion of the required energy directly on-site. In combination with a modern battery storage system, this creates an energy supply that is as self-sufficient as possible while also supporting the grid, buffering peak loads, and intelligently feeding surplus energy back into the grid. In addition, preparations are being made for the later integration of hydrogen technologies, for example through the collection of rainwater, which can in future be used both for irrigating green areas and in electrolysis plants.

Development of Further Construction Phases

In further phases of construction, two additional buildings are planned on the northern part of the site, providing production facilities on the ground floor and office space on the upper floors. On the southern part of the site, an area is designated specifically for the hydrogen business unit as well as a versatile multipurpose building.

With the new site, we are creating the spatial foundation to further develop the X2E Group in a future-proof and innovative way. Insight and Exchange – Politicians Visit Our Company

As we wrapped up an eventful year, we had the honor of welcoming Minister Daniel Keller from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor, Energy, and Climate Protection (MWAEK) and State Parliament Member Tina Fischer to our branch in Wildau. The fact that Minister Keller made this visit at the beginning of his term highlights the significance and support that politics provides for innovative technology companies in Brandenburg.

An Exclusive Tour with Valuable Insights
During a tour of our state-of-the-art facilities, our guests gained exclusive insights into our manufacturing processes. The focus was on our core competencies and business areas, particularly our expertise in embedded systems for dedicated aerospace applications.

Looking Ahead to the Future
The meeting also provided an excellent opportunity to discuss future challenges and opportunities. We shared our plans for 2025, our commitment to innovation, and how we leverage our flexibility to address the evolving challenges of the aerospace industry. The constructive discussions with Minister Keller and Ms. Fischer were not only a validation of our past achievements but also an inspiration for future projects.

Certificate EN 9100 obtained

X2E Aerospace Technologies was able to successfully prove itself and received the EN 9100 certificate – a small milestone on the way to helping shape the aerospace industry.

The industry-specific standard for quality management systems in the aerospace sector ensures that international standard requirements are met and that business processes are continuously improved. Its aim is to ensure the safety, reliability as well as the quality of the products. With the certificate, the company is simultaneously listed in the OASIS database of the IAQG (International Aerospace Quality Group).

X2E Aerospace Technologies achieved this success in a record time of two years. Back then, everything started with an empty office space, a founding document and a vision. The start was not easy, because the demands in the aviation sector are particularly high. It makes us all the more proud that we can fulfill them. In the future, certification according to DIN EN 9100 will provide the basis for implementing new projects.

X2E Group organizes aid transport for Ukraine

The war in Ukraine directly threatens the lives of millions of people. Hundreds of thousands have already had to leave their homes. In addition, there are countless internally displaced persons who have set out to seek refuge in other parts of the country.

In view of the immense suffering of the civilian population, we decided to organize a transport of relief supplies. Together with the employees of the X2E Group, we have collected donations in kind and money for the Khmelnytskyi region in Ukraine over the last few days. These are now being driven to the Polish-Ukrainian border. A local aid organization will take over the onward transport and distribution in the region.

Urgently needed medicines and hygiene articles as well as sleeping bags, sleeping mats, backpacks and emergency power supplies are handed over. The joint fundraising campaign raised over 10,000 euros.

X2E Flight Test Center: Contract signed at the Strausberg Airport

X2E Aerospace Technologies GmbH is planning to establish its own flight test center in the greater Berlin area. Last week, a strategic agreement was signed for this purpose at Strausberg airfield near the capital. The new company location will deal with the development and testing of innovative aviation technologies and create up to 30 high-tech jobs for this purpose.

Space for own aviation research

The X2E Flight Test Center is to be built in Strausberg by 2024. Our construction project for the site primarily includes a flight hangar from which we can launch test flights with our own test aircraft, the Partenavia P.68. Next to this will be an office building with development offices, meeting and test rooms. In the future, X2E Aerospace Technologies will carry out innovative aviation projects in these. .

The focus is on the development and testing of aerospace data loggers, for which we can draw on the many years of experience of the entire X2E Group. In addition, X2E Aerospace Technologies in Strausberg will focus on climate-neutral and hybrid-electric propulsion concepts. In total, around 30 new and promising jobs are being created at the X2E flight test center, including in the fields of aerospace engineering, electrical engineering and business administration.

Strategy agreement signed at Strausberg airfield

With the Strausberg airfield, we have found a location that is not only in the capital region and the headquarters of X2E Aerospace Technologies in Wildau, but also meets our technological requirements. At the airfield, we can combine the necessary infrastructure for test flights and an office building in one place. Just last week, the airfield took another attractive step for us with the start of operations of the instrument approach system.

As part of the celebrations for the opening of the instrument approach system, Irina Kühnel, Managing Director from the airfield, and Dr. Karlheinz Weiss, Managing Director from X2E Aerospace Technologies, signed a joint strategy agreement. – “We are pleased about the valuable cooperation and the promising start for an X2E flight test center at Strausberg airfield,” said Dr. Karlheinz Weiss.

Vulcanair P68 Observer: New light aircraft complements our company fleet

A Vulcanair P68 Observer was recently added to the company fleet of X2E Aerospace Technologies GmbH.

The P68 is a twin-propeller aircraft originally designed for observation purposes for police and government agencies. As a lightweight and cost-efficient aircraft, however, it has long enjoyed a high level of popularity beyond that. With a climb speed of seven meters per second, it reaches an altitude of over six kilometers. But what makes the Vulcanair P68 Observer special is its nose made of Plexiglas, which offers an exciting all-round view.

At X2E Aerospace Technologies GmbH, the aircraft will be used in the future for test flights as well as for business trips. In addition to the real aircraft, X2E is also investing in a flight simulator, which is intended to awaken enthusiasm for aviation technology among the children and young people at the X2E Youth Development Center Winden. As part of the High Tech Club, students receive flying lessons for this.

New X2E Aerospace Technologies office opened in Wildau, near Berlin

Our company gains a foothold outside its home in the southern Palatinate and opens a location in the Berlin-Brandenburg region. On 27.11.2020, the keys were handed over for the new premises in the Center for Future Technologies in Wildau.

Innovative environment convinced in the choice of location

The fact that Brandenburg was chosen as the location is primarily due to its proximity to the aviation industry based there. With over 17,000 employees in more than 100 companies, the capital region is one of the largest aviation clusters in Germany. The small town of Wildau is also home to the Aerospace Center of the Dahme-Spreewald Economic Development Corporation and the Technical University. The newly opened Berlin-Brandenburg Airport can also be reached within 20 minutes.

Kick-off in the Berlin-Brandenburg innovation cluster

On Friday morning, the keys were handed over at the Center for Future Technologies in Wildau, Brandenburg. The operator of the newly constructed building is Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Dahme-Spreewald mbH. Their managing director Gerhard Janßen met with our project managers Dr. Andreas Frahm and Dr. Sven Angermann for the handover. Promising aviation projects are now being developed there on an area of approx. 325 square meters.
